Purge Gifting Center helps people with disabilities and disabled veterans live with greater safety, dignity, and independence through accessible home improvements and practical community support.

Accessibility begins at homeWhy we are here
A few thoughtful changes can turn an everyday house into a place of safety, confidence, and possibility.
We bring neighbors, volunteers, and community partners together to help remove the physical and practical barriers that make living at home harder than it should be.

How we help
Clear programs make it easier for families to ask for help and for donors to understand exactly what their generosity supports.
Practical improvements such as safer entrances, widened pathways, mobility-friendly bathrooms, and other modifications that support independent living.
Connections, guidance, and short-term support for people with disabilities, disabled veterans, and families facing an urgent housing need.
Transportation assistance and essential resources that help neighbors reach appointments, remain connected, and move forward with dignity.
Serving those who served
As part of a military family, Nikia understands that the paperwork, terminology, and handoffs surrounding VA and state benefits can feel overwhelming. Purge Gifting Center helps veterans and military families identify official resources, organize their next steps, and connect with accredited representatives and trusted Texas veterans services.
Connections to official programs that may support ramps, widened entrances, bathroom adaptations, and other medically necessary home improvements.
Help identifying official benefit categories, organizing questions, and reaching a VA-accredited representative or VSO for claims assistance.
Official resources for spouses, dependents, survivors, and those caring for a veteran with a service-connected disability.
Purge Gifting Center is not affiliated with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and does not provide legal representation or prepare VA claims. Claims assistance is referred to VA-accredited representatives and official veterans service organizations.
Founder, author, and community advocateMeet the founder
“If I can change the life of even just one, I know everything I have done is worth it.”
Nikia Lewis is a Baltimore native who now calls Austin, Texas, home. She is an author, entrepreneur, and community advocate with more than ten years of experience in real estate and helping families navigate housing and financial challenges.
Her connection to a military family also shapes her commitment to helping veterans and their loved ones find trustworthy pathways to the benefits and support they have earned.
In 2022, Nikia founded Purge Gifting Center to connect under-resourced and underserved people with accessible home improvements, temporary housing resources, financial education, and a stronger path toward independence. Her vision is grounded in a simple belief: one changed life makes the work worthwhile.

Every home, family, and need is different. Our approach stays personal while keeping the path forward clear.
Share the challenge, the household situation, and the change that would make daily life safer.
We review the request, identify useful resources, and determine the most responsible next step.
